In this journey we concentrate on the north, giving you the chance to try the region’s food at its most realistic while aggressively getting involved. You’ll visit local markets, ride a local tram in Kolkata, learn about, all the necessary ingredients, join in with the preparation and cooking, and ultimately sit down and eat. We’ve involved an extensive range of dining experiences from street food and family meals to afternoon tea in the beautiful surroundings in local cities as per tour plan. But it’s not all about the food! We’ll also take you to some of North India’s top tourist sights including Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, Lucknow Residency, Old Delhi, the Taj Mahal in Agra, Jaipur’s City Palace, City of Lakes – Udaipur and the Gateway to India in Mumbai.

Travel Itinerary
1 - Arrive Kolkata
You will be met at the airport and transported to your hotel. For those arriving earlier in the day take the time to recover from the flight. Check in time at the hotel is 12pm.
2 - In Kolkata
After breakfast visit Victoria Memorial Hall, Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, Mother House, Park Street, etc. Shop around New Market Kolkata and city centre mall. You will experience a short ride in local trams of Kolkata.
By evening, you will enjoy a special cooking presentation and access to a local home during this authentic Bengali food experience. Enjoy a meal afterwards with the family, including various curries, rice, and a sweet.
3 - Kolkata – Serampore – Kolkata Street Food Tour
Morning visit European cities look alike as Chandannagar & Serampore
Chandannagar, a tiny 300 years old town has an exceptional blend of culture & heritage which is incomparable in history, still conserving French heritage and was a French colony till 1950.
Carry on your drive to Serampore and visit Serampore College & Serampore Ramakrishna Mission – A serene divine centre with attractive architecture and serene surroundings with additional monuments.
Later enjoy Kolkata street food tour and sample some of its tastiest offerings. Try spicy chai tea to jumbo prawns, curried fish mousse steamed in banana leaves, onion bhajis (fritters), and the conventional sweets for which Kolkata is known across India.
4 - Kolkata – Patna [By Air] - Bodhgaya
Morning board your flight for Patna. On arrival, drive to Bodh Gaya. Bodhgaya is a place for both Buddhists and Hindus. Various sculptures are found in this area which are showing the site that was used by the Buddhists during the Mauryan time. Overnight stay.
5 - In Bodhgaya
Today explore Mahabodhi temple where the diamond throne and the bodhi tree are found. The tree which is found here is just like a sapling of the tree which is found in Sri Lanka. The temple is made from the marbles and bricks which are still such from the Gupta period.
Later enjoy some local delicacies of Bodhgaya such as Litti Chokha, Thilkut, Enarsa, typical Bihari Sweets and some South Asian countries treats and starters.
6 - Bodhgaya – Varanasi [By Train] – River Ganges.
Morning board train for Varanasi. Evening attend breath-taking aarti ceremony engrossed in the beats of claps, ringing bells, blowing conch, enchanting mantras, hymns and the sweet-scented air. Let the magical aura awaken your soul. Your opinion on Hinduism and the worship of the River Ganges will be much richer after the ritual and it is not to be ignored.
At dinner time relish meal in a good local vegetarian restaurant and get an unlimited thali [platter] with more than hundreds of dishes. Observe that the entire cuisine is made without Onion and Garlic.
7 - Varanasi – River Ganges – Food Walking Tour - Sarnath
At morning boat ride visit Dashashwamedh Ghat and soak yourself in its blissful environs. The aroma of incense, the blowing of conch shells and the devotion of the people will truly mesmerize you. Next tour will be of Varanasi’s local foodies where you will explore city’s famous unpretentious street food it has to offer which are Malaiyo, Tamatar Chaat (savory tomato and potato snack), Kalakand, Malai Toast, Malpuas (Indian pancake), Banarasi Paan (betel leaf filled with condiments) and more.
Also visit famous Sarnath where Lord Buddha delivered first sermon speech to the world. Overnight stay.
8 - Varanasi – Lucknow [By Train] Cuisine Tour of Lucknow City
Morning board train for Lucknow. On arrival, be ready to experience cuisine tour of Lucknow which mainly consists of Avadhi cuisine. The food tour walk will be of 1.5 hours to 02 Hours which operates all days except Sundays, Muslim Holidays and Holi festival.
The guided food tour will take you to enjoy some Mughal cuisines at different eateries like Idris Biryani [Mutton Biryani], Rahim’s Pasanda Kebab, Nihari Gosht, Tundey’s Kebab and at last stop for Kulfi shop which is served as a sweet dish. Back to hotel for overnight stay.
9 - Lucknow – New Delhi [By Air]
Day is at leisure. If you want then we can arrange some local sightseeing of Lucknow. Later in time we shall drive you to Lucknow airport to board your flight for New Delhi [The capital of India]. Evening is free for leisure and rest. Night stay is in New Delhi.
10 - In New Delhi– Food Tour + Delhi Metro Train Ride.
Today at 0900 hours get the Delhi metro ride which will land you straight at the Old Delhi area from where your food tour starts. Enjoy different Indian food dishes from different Indian cuisines and visit different food joints in the Old Delhi area. The food tour will also stop at Spice Market of Delhi in which you will learn about various kinds of spices used in Indian cooking.
Later in the evening you will be returning to your hotel for overnight stay.
11 - New Delhi – Agra [By Drive]
Morning checkout and drive to Agra. On arrival visit Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday’s) for stunning views and is also less crowded.
The white marble beauty was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.
Visit Agra Fort. The 16th-century monument is yet another proof of the architectural brilliance of the Mughals. Called the Red Fort of Agra, you will be awe-inspired by the powerful fortress.
In the evening stroll in Sadar Bazar and Food street of Agra.
12 - Agra – Fatehpur Sikri - Abhaneri Step Wells - Jaipur [ Street Food Tour]
Today drive to Jaipur. On the way visit Abhaneri Step well and Fatehpur Sikri. Carry on to Jaipur. In evening enjoy local street food as Chole Bhaturas, Aalu Tikki, Pani puri, jalebi, pyaz ki kachori, samosa’s, South Indian Thalis, chaat’s, to Gulab Jamun’s, authentic Rajasthani food, halwa, etc. This place has a lot to offer.
13 - In Jaipur – Wake up with Jaipur + Pink City Heritage Tour
In morning experience morning aarti at 18th century Govind Devji Temple where crowds chant songs to the deity, which is also worshipped by the erstwhile royal family. From here we shall move towards flower market to watch turbaned crowds trading sacks of roses & marigold.
After breakfast, explore Amber Fort with the Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors), a rich combination of Hindu and Muslim design that proffer some impressive views out across the Aravalli Hills. Next visit will be of astonishing Hawa Mahal or Palace of Winds. Also, stopover at City palace, now a mesmerizing museum housing some of the treasures of Jaipur’s princely past.
14 - Jaipur – Udaipur [By Late Afternoon Train]
Day is at leisure. In time get transferred to Jaipur railway station to board your train for Udaipur. You will reach Udaipur near 2230 hours. On arrival get check in to your hotel for overnight stay.
15 - In Udaipur
Explore City Palace - a mélange of European, Medieval and Chinese architecture. The palace is located on the banks of Lake Pichola. Next, visit Sahelion- ki- bari or the garden of maidens which has four pools and elegant kiosks.
Thereafter, visit Jagdish Temple built in Indo-Aryan style of architecture, also the largest temple in Udaipur.
At evening, enjoy fantastic cooking class where you will learn Rajasthani and home style recipes including chai, chapattis, sweet and potato patatha, garlic naan, dal and eggplant curry from an experienced home cook.
16 - Udaipur – Mumbai [By Air] + Mumbai Food Walking Trip
Morning board your sun-up flight for Mumbai. On arrival get transferred to your hotel.
Later visit Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, en route to Mumbai High Court and University. Stroll through picturesque view of Marine Drive and Hanging Garden. View Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station from outside to get the exquisite beauty of the monument. Also visit Mani Bhavan (which tends to be the house of Mahatma Gandhi).
While exploring Mumbai visit some street stalls to relish delicious local stuff like Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Dahi Puri, Chicken Roll, Seekh Kabab and other daily street vendors loads which they offer at reasonable prices.
17 - Depart Mumbai
In time get transferred to Mumbai airport to board your flight for onwards journey. Tour Ends
