Your South India tour of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka begins with your arrival at the Bangalore airport, where you are greeted by our representative who will ensure that you get settled in your hotel comfortably.
Your afternoon is at leisure and you can make a visit to the local market on your own or with your driver.
Overnight at the Hotel.
Checkout and drive to Mysore. Mysore,known for its palaces and churches.
On arrival check in at hotel. Later your sightseeing by visiting The Mysore Palace which holds the visitors eyes since it reflects the glorious past of Mysore. It was built in 1912 and designed by British Architect Henry Irwin who contributed to ornate this by domes and colonnades. It is a home to art and antiques and also known as Mysore Palace. Just next to it, you visit Maharaja’s Residence which has converted into a museum and a shelter of a great collections of art and artefacts. Once Visited , you move to explore the Rail Museum and St. Philomena’s Church and Chamundeswari Temple.
Overnight at the Hotel in Mysore.
After breakfast, drive to Hassan and on the way visit Shravanabelagola. It is one of the most religious sites for Jain devotees. Witness a 57 feet tall monolithic statue of Bhagwan Gommateshvara Bahubali, which is believed to be the protector of Shravanabelagola.
Continue your drive to Hassan. Once reached, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel and rest. The evening is free for leisure. To make the most of your time, you can explore the surroundings on foot or visit the famous Jain and Hindu temples. Spend overnight in Hassan.
Delight in the toothsome dinner and slip into your cozy bed for a restful sleep.
Have a fulfilling breakfast and proceed for a day trip from Hassan to Belur and Halebidu. Known for 12th-century stunning temples, Belur and Halebidu are UNESCO World Heritage Sites renowned for their South Indian architecture. Witness the carvings from Puranas, Upnishads, and characters from the ancient epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata. Chennakeshava is the main temple of Belur and was built in 1117 AD as a victory celebration and 100 years it took to complete.
The Hoysaleswara Temple is the principal attraction of Halebid which was built in 1152 AD.
After the tour, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
After breakfast, check-out from hotel and drive to Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which was the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire. Enroute visit Chitradurga Fort, also known as Kallina Kote or Stone Fortress.
On arrival at Hampi, check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Hampi
After breakfast, go on full day sightseeing tour of the Hampi town. Tourist places to visit in Hampi are: Virupaksha Temple, Krishna Temple, Lakshmi Narasimha, Badavi Linga, Sister Stones,Underground Temple, Mint House, the two storied Lotus Mahal, the huge Elephant Stables,Hazara Rama Temple, Queen’s Bath and its lotus shaped fountains. After lunch visit the musical pillars at the Vijaya Vittala Temple (Stone Chariot), King’s Balance and Old Pillar Bridge
Overnight stay at Hampi
After breakfast, drive to Badami.. Badami tourism places to visit are: The Banashankari Temple and Badami Cave Temples dating back to the 06th& 07th centuries. Later drive further to visit the temples and sculptures of Pattadakal, Aihole & Mahakuta blended in Dravidian and Nagara style.
Overnight stay at Hubli
Morning checkout and drive Hubli airport to board flight for Madurai. On arrival check in at your hotel. Evening is free to conduct your own activities. Night stay is in Madurai
After morning breakfast begin your cultural tour by visiting Meenakshi Temple, which is one of the most remarkable landmarks of Madurai – the temple city. The temple is dedicated to one of the form of goddess Parvati called “Meenakshi.” There is also a shrine for her consort Siva, known as Sundareshwarar. This captivating temple has been made using south Indian Dravidian architectural style.
There are four temple towers crowning the gateways at all its major direction. These towers are visible from a distance, each of which is coated with numerous colorful sculptures representing mythological and auspicious themes. There is a traditional belief that one should enter through the southern gateway and worship the Goddess before Lord Shiva (her consort).
Then you will move towards Thiruparankundram Temple, nestled atop a hillock around 8 Kms away from Madurai. It is dedicated to Lord Muruga and is considered as one among the six sacred abodes of the Arupadai Veedu. Mentions about this temple can be seen in the ancient scriptures from 6th century AD.
Visit large and beautiful temple before proceeding towards the Thirumalai Nayak Palace. It had two parts – Swargavilasa or the heavenly pavilion made for the King’s Harem and court (durbar), and the Ranka Vilasa (made for his brother). No one is allowed to enter the roof.
Before returning back, visit the Gandhi Museum and spend some time there. Night stay is in Madurai
