Travel Itinerary
1 - Arrive Mumbai
You will be met at the airport and transported to your hotel. For those arriving earlier in the day take the time to recover from the flight. Check in time at the hotel is 12pm.
2 - In Mumbai City Tour With Street Food Tour of Mumbai
Today visit Gateway of India, Prince of Wales Museum, en route to Mumbai High Court and University. Stroll through picturesque view of Marine Drive and Hanging Garden. View Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus railway station from outside to get the exquisite beauty of the monument. Also visit Mani Bhavan (which tends to be the house of Mahatma Gandhi).
While exploring Mumbai visit some street stalls to relish delicious local stuff like Pav Bhaji, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Dahi Puri, Chicken Roll, Seekh Kabab and other daily street vendors loads which they offer at reasonable prices.
3 - Mumbai – Ahmedabad [By Train]
Today in time get transferred to Mumbai Railway station to board train for Ahmedabad which is India's first UNESCO World Heritage City and the most populous metropolis in Gujarat. On arrival at Ahmedabad railway station you shall be transferred to your hotel. Night stay is in Ahmedabad.
4 - In Ahmedabad
This morning get heritage tour of Ahmedabad starting from Swaminarayan Temple Kalupur, and concludes at the 15th-century Jama Masjid. Later, travel to Modhera and Patan. Check the architectural beauty of Sun Temple at Modhera built in 1026 CE, the Rani-ki-vav at Patan, and the step-well at Adalaj.
Afterwards drive straight to a good local restaurant in Ahmedabad.
Mud flooring, bamboo walls, wooden tables, leaf plates and bowls and a dhinchanyu or a knee-support – You will have experience of local traditional food & culture of Gujarat. Overnight stay.
5 - Ahmedabad – Udaipur [By Train]
Morning board train for Udaipur. Rajput-era Royal palaces, old havelis (merchant houses) and luxury hotels. Udaipur is Rajasthan’s romantic white city located on Lake Pichola. The lake is actually man-made built in 1362 to accommodate Udaipur’s water needs. In a very dry season, it can be completely empty. Evening is free to explore Udaipur on your own. Night stay is in Udaipur.
6 - In Udaipur
Explore City Palace - a mélange of European, Medieval and Chinese architecture. The palace is located on the banks of Lake Pichola. Next, visit Sahelion- ki- bari or the garden of maidens which has four pools and elegant kiosks.
Thereafter, visit Jagdish Temple built in Indo-Aryan style of architecture, also the largest temple in Udaipur.
At evening, enjoy fantastic cooking class where you will learn Rajasthani and home style recipes including chai, chapattis, sweet and potato patatha, garlic naan, dal and eggplant curry from an experienced home cook.
7 - Udaipur – Salt Lake [By Train]
Morning board the train which is near to your next destination as Salt Lake in Rajasthan.
On arrival, see salt harvesting and the process of ‘Salt making’, on the toy train for the salt production tour. Chat with salt production workers and get a glimpse into the process of extracting salt from the lake. Optional activities are bird watching. The flamingos in the midst of green water and crystal sand make the view extremely spellbinding.
Also, you can do stargazing with a lantern amidst the stars, an unmatched experience. Night stay is at Salt Lake resort.
8 - Salt Lake - Jaipur [By Drive] + Local Street Food
Opt for an early morning excursion to a nearby village and enjoy a slice of rural life while sipping on tea at a local chai shop and stroll the banks of the Salt Lake. Afterwards checkout & drive to Jaipur.
After fresh n up at Jaipur, visit City Palace, a perfect blend of Rajasthani & Mughal architecture. Thereafter watch Hawa Mahal - a five-storied facade made of pink sandstone. Built in 1799, Hawa Mahal’s discreet windows allowed royal ladies to watch street processions and festivities.
Return to enjoy local street food as Chole Bhaturas, Aalu Tikki, Pani puri, jalebi, pyaz ki kachori, samosa’s, South Indian Thalis, chaat’s, authentic Rajasthani food, halwa, etc. This place has a lot to offer.
9 - Jaipur – In Jaipur – Wake up with Jaipur + Agra
In morning get ready to experience morning aarti at 18th century Govind Devji Temple where crowds chant songs to the deity and is also worshipped by the erstwhile royal family. From here we shall move towards flower market to watch turbaned crowds trading sacks of roses & marigold
After breakfast Explore Amber Fort with the Sheesh Mahal (hall of mirrors), a rich combination of Hindu and Muslim design that proffer some impressive views out across the Aravalli Hills.
Carry on your drive to Agra. In the evening stroll in Sadar Bazar and Food street of Agra. Overnight stay.
10 - Agra - New Delhi
Today have sunrise visit of Taj Mahal (Closed on Friday’s) for stunning views and is also less crowded.
The white marble beauty was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983.
Later visit Agra Fort. The 16th-century monument is yet another proof of the architectural brilliance of the Mughals. Called the Red Fort of Agra, you will be awe-inspired by the powerful fortress.
Later drive to New Delhi for your overnight stay.
11 - New & Old Delhi – Food Tour
Today at 0900 hours get the Delhi metro ride which will land you straight at the Old Delhi area from where your food tour starts. Enjoy different Indian food dishes from different Indian cuisines and visit different food joints in the Old Delhi area. The food tour will also stop at Spice Market of Delhi in which you will learn about various kinds of spices used in Indian cooking
Overnight stay is in New Delhi
12 - New Delhi Depart
Day is at leisure.
