Travel Itinerary

New Delhi Departure → Har Ki Pauri · Haridwar → Ganga Aarti · Dusk

Your TTI vehicle departs Delhi for Haridwar - where the Ganga, having descended from the Himalayas, touches the plains for the first time.
Arrive by afternoon. Check in. As dusk falls, walk to Har Ki Pauri for the Ganga Aarti - lamps placed on the sacred water, bells, conch shells and the river receiving a thousand prayers simultaneously. Your pilgrimage has begun.

TTI Insider: Arrive at Har Ki Pauri at least 45 minutes before the Aarti begins — not to find a spot, but to sit quietly before the ceremony starts. The river in the half-light before the lamps are lit is the most honest moment of the evening. The ceremony itself is extraordinary. But the silence before it is sacred in a different way.

Triveni Ghat · Rishikesh→ Parmarth Niketan Ashram→ Ram Jhula · Laxman Jhula→ Return Night · Haridwar

Drive to Rishikesh - where the Ganga runs cold and clean from the mountains and the ashrams line both banks. Triveni Ghat at dawn if you rise early - the morning aarti on the water.
Then the ashrams, Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula suspension bridges, the lanes where saints have walked since the Puranas. The Beatles came here in 1968. They came for the same reason you have. Return to Haridwar for the night.

TTI Insider: At Parmarth Niketan Ashram, sit by the Ganga for ten minutes without an agenda. No temple, no guide, no photograph. Just the river and what it carries. Every pilgrim who does this describes it as the moment Rishikesh became real for them - not the bridge, not the ashram, not the yoga. The river, alone, for ten minutes.

Krishna Janmabhoomi · Mathura → Dwarkadhish Temple → Vishram Ghat · Yamuna

Drive from Haridwar to Mathura with comfort stops along the way. Arrive in the city where Krishna was born in a prison cell — the Janmabhoomi complex marks the exact spot. The Dwarkadhish Temple, the Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna where Krishna rested after slaying Kansa. Every lane in Mathura carries a name from the Bhagavata Purana. Overnight Mathura.

TTI Insider : At Vishram Ghat on the Yamuna, search out the 25 ghats that line the Mathura riverbank - each named for a different moment in Krishna's life. Standing at Vishram Ghat at dusk, watching the Yamuna carry the last light downstream, is the quietest and most overlooked sacred experience in Mathura. Almost no pilgrim stops here long enough.

Banke Bihari Temple · Vrindavan → Prem Mandir→ ISKCON Vrindavan→ Seva Kunj→ Agra · Night halt only

Morning in Vrindavan - the forest where Krishna played. Banke Bihari Temple where the curtain opens and closes every few minutes - darshan given and gently withdrawn, again and again.
The luminous Prem Mandir. ISKCON Vrindavan. The sacred lanes of Seva Kunj.
Late evening drive to Agra - Agra is tonight's halt only, a practical stop on the way to Varanasi.  No city tour. Rest and depart tomorrow.

TTI Insider: At Banke Bihari Temple, do not rush through. The curtain that opens and closes before the deity is not a ceremony - it is a teaching. The deity's gaze is considered so powerful that direct, prolonged eye contact would overwhelm the devotee. The curtain protects you. Understanding this before you enter changes everything about what you experience inside.

Agra to Varanasi - Train Journey - Departure approximately 06:00 AM ·  AC Chair Class · Arrival Varanasi afternoon.  Train timings subject to Indian Railways availability. TTI confirms your berths and books the best available service. Equivalent AC alternative arranged if required at no additional cost.

Agra → Varanasi Train → Varanasi Arrival→ Dashashwamedh Ghat · Evening Aarti → Kashi Vishwanath Temple · if time permits

The train delivers you to Varanasi by afternoon - the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth.

Check in.
As evening descends, walk to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti - fire, incense, conch shells and the river receiving ten thousand prayers at once.
Varanasi does not ease you in gently. It begins immediately.

TTI Insider: For the Dashashwamedh Aarti, arrive by boat - not on foot through the lanes. Your TTI Tours rep arranges a small boat from upstream. Watching the Aarti from the river, with the entire ghat lit and the lamps reflected on the water below, is the version of this ceremony that pilgrims describe for the rest of their lives. The view from the steps is ordinary by comparison.

Dawn Boat Ride · Ganges → Manikarnika Ghat → Kashi Vishwanath Temple → Annapurna Temple → Ghat Walk · All 84 Ghats

Before sunrise - a boat on the Ganges. The burning ghats to the left, pilgrims bathing to the right, the sun rising behind the city. This one hour holds more of India than any other single experience available to a traveller anywhere.

Then Kashi Vishwanath - Shiva's most sacred temple. The ghat walk. Annapurna Temple. The lanes of the old city where the sacred and the ordinary exist in the same breath. Evening at your own prayer.

TTI Insider: At Manikarnika Ghat - the burning ghat - do not photograph. Do not speak loudly. Do not react visibly. Hindus believe that dying in Varanasi brings moksha - liberation from the cycle of rebirth. The families cremating their loved ones here are not mourning in the way you might expect. They are celebrating a sacred release. Witnessing this with that understanding changes what you see completely.

Triveni Sangam · Prayagraj → Sangam Boat Ride → Akshayavat · Hanuman Temple → Ayodhya Arrival→ Saryu Ghat Aarti · Evening

Morning drive to Prayagraj - where the Ganga, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati meet at the Triveni Sangam. A boat to the confluence - where two visible rivers meet and the third is felt rather than seen. A handful of sacred water held at the joining point.

Then drive to Ayodhya. Arrive in Ram's city as the evening Saryu Aarti lights the river bank.

TTI Insider : At the Triveni Sangam, look at where the two rivers meet - the Ganga is visibly clearer, the Yamuna slightly darker. The line where they merge is actually visible from the boat. The Saraswati is said to join underground, unseen. Holding water at this exact confluence — where three sacred rivers become one - is considered among the most powerful acts of pilgrimage in Hinduism. Take your time here.

Saryu River · Dawn Walk → Ram Ghat · Sunrise → Ram Janmabhoomi · Ram Mandir→ Hanuman Garhi Temple→ Kanak Bhawan→ Kaushalya Mata Temple

Before breakfast - the Saryu river bank at dawn. Ram Ghat as the light comes up over the water. The river that witnessed the entire Ramayana, quiet now, receiving the morning. Then Ram Mandir darshan - the newly consecrated Ram Janmabhoomi, the culminating sacred moment of this entire journey. Hanuman Garhi, Kanak Bhawan, Kaushalya Mata Temple. Ayodhya at full devotion. Evening at leisure - prayer, reflection, the Saryu at dusk.

TTI Insider : The Saryu river walk at dawn is the most overlooked sacred experience in Ayodhya - and almost no tour includes it. Ram Ghat before sunrise, when the city is not yet awake and the river carries the last of the dark - this is where the journey ends properly. Not at the Ram Mandir, magnificent as it is. Here, at the water, alone with the river that Rama himself once stood beside.

Ayodhya → Maharishi Valmiki Airport · Optional → Lucknow · 130km · Optional → Onward to your city

After breakfast and a final morning prayer, your TTI vehicle transfers you to Ayodhya's Maharishi Valmiki International Airport - with direct flights to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai and other cities — or to Lucknow railway station for onward train connections [ On extra payment basis ] .
Nine days. Seven sacred cities. One unbroken corridor of faith. The pilgrimage ends here. What it has placed in you - that travels forward.

TTI Insider: Ayodhya Airport now has direct flights to major cities across India. For South Indian and Gujarat pilgrims this is the most convenient departure point - no need to return to Delhi. TTI confirms your onward connection before the journey begins so your departure day is calm and unhurried. Your last hour in Ayodhya should be spent at the river - not at the airport check-in queue.
