Overview
There is a moment on this journey - it comes somewhere between the chilli dust of Chandni Chowk hitting your nose before you see a single spice sack, and standing in front of the Taj Mahal while the marble is still pink - when India stops being a destination and becomes something that happens to you.
The Golden Triangle is the most travelled route in India. Delhi, Agra, Jaipur - three cities, five days, a thousand years of history. Every operator offers it. What separates TTI's version is not the landmarks - every visitor sees the same monuments - but what happens between them.
The rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, where the chilli dust announces your arrival before a single sack is in view and the spice merchants have been trading on this street since 1650.
The Taj Mahal before 6am, when the marble turns soft pink and the crowds are still asleep. And on the final evening in Jaipur, a Rajasthani village dinner under open sky = folk performances, traditional games, firelight - the kind of evening that exists nowhere on any other Golden Triangle itinerary.
Five days. Three cities. The India most first-timers came looking for - and the evening in a Rajasthan village that nobody told them was coming.

Travel Itinerary
Indira Gandhi Airport → New Delhi
Your TTI representative meets you at arrivals. Outside the terminal the air is warm and carries jasmine garlands, diesel and woodsmoke simultaneously - a combination that exists nowhere else on earth. Delhi has been the capital of six empires and shows all of them at once. Tonight is yours - rest, or walk. India begins properly tomorrow.
TTI Insider: Delhi has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times - each time by a different empire on a slightly different footprint. You are standing in Lutyens' New Delhi - the eighth city. An auto-rickshaw to India Gate after dinner makes this real in twenty minutes.
Jama Masjid → Chandni Chowk → India Gate → Humayun's Tomb →Agra
Old Delhi first - Jama Masjid, then the rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk where the chilli dust from Khari Baoli announces your arrival before a single spice sack is in view. The spice merchants call their sacks *boris* — a word almost no tourist knows.
New Delhi follows: Raj Ghat, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Humayun's Tomb & Qutub Minar Then the drive to Agra as evening falls over the Yamuna.
TTI Insider: At Humayun's Tomb, walk past the main façade to the rear garden. From there the tomb rises against the sky with no other visitor between you and it. The Taj Mahal was designed by architects who had studied this building. Stand here and you can see exactly why.
Taj Mahal → Agra Fort → Jaipur
Arrive at the Taj Mahal before 6am. The white marble turns soft pink in the first light — a colour that lasts 45 minutes before the crowds arrive and it disappears. Shah Jahan built it in 22 years as an act of grief for his wife Mumtaz. After the Taj, Agra Fort — where Shah Jahan spent his final years watching the tomb he had built from across the river. Then drive to Jaipur. [Taj closed Fridays — TTI plans around this.]
TTI Insider: The pink marble lasts exactly 45 minutes. After 7am the colour is gone and the coaches have arrived. There is no version of the Taj as extraordinary as the 6am version. This is the one TTI always ensures you see.
Amber Fort → City Palace → Jantar Mantar → Hawa Mahal → Rajasthani Village Dinner
Amber Fort above Maota Lake - a 16th-century Rajput palace that took 100 years to complete.
City Palace, Jantar Mantar's 18th-century stone observatory,
Hawa Mahal's 953-windowed façade.
Then the evening that separates this tour from every other Golden Triangle package - a Rajasthani cultural dinner with folk performances, cultural games and firelight. This is not a restaurant. It is an evening that belongs only here.
TTI Insider: Before dinner, find Rawat Misthan Bhandar on Station Road - Jaipur's most famous kachori shop. Regulars have been driving across Rajasthan for these pyaz ki kachoris for generations. Order two. They arrive hot, crisp and filled with spiced onion. This is the finest ten rupees you will spend in Jaipur.
Jaipur → New Delhi Airport
After a leisurely breakfast, drive back to Delhi. The Rajasthan countryside through the window on the return journey looks different from Day 1 - because you are different from Day 1.
On arrival in Delhi, transfer directly to the airport for your onward flight.
Five days. The Taj at dawn. The chilli dust of Chandni Chowk. The village fire in Jaipur. India does not end at the departure gate.
TTI Insider: If time allows before the airport transfer, ask your driver to stop at a roadside chai stall on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Strong, cardamom-spiced, served in a clay cup. Ten rupees. The most consistently perfect cup of tea in India — and the best last taste of the journey.

The perfect blend of sightseeing and relaxation! We had enough time to explore Delhi’s rich history, admire the Taj Mahal, and wander through Jaipur’s vibrant streets without feeling rushed. Hotels were excellent, and the guide made everything easy. One evening ran a bit late due to traffic, but it didn’t affect the overall experience. Truly memorable and wel...
