Day 1 is intentionally kept free for you to settle in, rest and recover from your journey. Delhi can be an overwhelming arrival — the scale, the sounds, the energy. Take the evening at your own pace. Step out for a walk if you feel rested, or simply relax and prepare for the extraordinary week ahead.

Delhi is not one city — it is many cities layered on top of each other across thousands of years. Today your expert guide takes you through both Old and New Delhi, weaving together Mughal grandeur, British colonial legacy and the beating heart of modern India.

Old Delhi begins at the magnificent Jama Masjid — India's largest mosque, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1656. From here, climb aboard a classic cycle rickshaw and glide through the impossibly narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk — one of the oldest and busiest markets in Asia. Spice shops, jewellers, sweet stalls and street food vendors line every turn.

New Delhi reveals a completely different face. Your guide takes you past India Gate — the solemn war memorial at the heart of the capital — before visiting the breathtaking Humayun's Tomb, the UNESCO-listed Mughal mausoleum that directly inspired the design of the Taj Mahal. Your final stop is the iconic Qutub Minar — the world's tallest brick minaret and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, rising 73 metres above the Delhi skyline.

In the evening, your private vehicle transfers you from Delhi to Agra — approximately 3.5 to 4 hours by road. You will arrive in Agra by evening, check in and rest ahead of tomorrow's most anticipated moment of the entire tour.

This is the day most travellers have been waiting for since the moment they booked. You will rise early — breakfast at the hotel — before heading to the Taj Mahal for a morning visit that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

After the Taj Mahal, your guide leads you to Agra Fort — the magnificent red sandstone fortress that served as the main residence of the Mughal Emperors for generations. Walk through the royal chambers, audience halls and the heartbreaking Tower of Jasmine from which the imprisoned Emperor Shah Jahan spent his final years gazing at the Taj Mahal he had built for his wife.

After Agra Fort, your driver heads west on the Yamuna Expressway toward Jaipur — approximately 4.5 hours. You will arrive in the Pink City by early evening, with time to freshen up and explore the lit bazaars of Jaipur's old city at night.

Jaipur — Rajasthan's capital and the jewel of the Golden Triangle — is a city built for spectacle. Founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jai Singh II, the entire old city was painted pink in 1876 to welcome the visiting Prince of Wales. The colour stuck. Today it is one of the most photographed cities in India — and one of the most rewarding to explore with a knowledgeable guide.

Your morning begins at Amber Fort (also known as Amer Fort) — the breathtaking hilltop palace-fortress that served as the seat of the Rajput Maharajas for centuries. Built from golden limestone and white marble, it rises dramatically above a lake with a mirror image reflected in the water below. Your guide will walk you through the ornate Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors), the Ganesh Gate and the private royal apartments.

The afternoon takes you into the heart of Jaipur's walled old city. Your guide walks you past the extraordinary Hawa Mahal — the Palace of Winds, with its 953 intricately carved windows designed so royal ladies could observe street life unseen — and into the lively bazaars of Johari Bazar and Bapu Bazar. Browse for Rajasthani gems, blue pottery, block-print textiles and the famous Jaipur lac bangles.

The drive from Jaipur to Jodhpur takes you deeper into Rajasthan — past scrubland, ancient caravanserais, and small villages where camels still outnumber cars. You arrive in Jodhpur by afternoon — a city that hits you immediately with the sight of Mehrangarh Fort rising impossibly from a sheer rock face above a sea of blue-painted houses.

The afternoon is spent exploring Mehrangarh Fort — arguably the most spectacular fort in all of India. Built in 1459, its walls rise 36 metres from the rock below. Your guided tour takes you through seven magnificent gates, each built to commemorate a different Maharaja's military victory, and into the extraordinary royal apartments, armoury and museum housed within.

In the evening, head into Jodhpur's old city and experience the Rajasthani cooking class — one of the most memorable experiences on this entire tour. A local chef guides you hands-on through preparing authentic Rajasthani dishes including Dal Baati Churma, Ker Sangri and Bajra Roti. You eat what you cook — a proper Rajasthani feast in a local home setting.

Today's drive from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer is one of the most scenic journeys on the entire tour. The landscape gradually transforms — green scrubland giving way to golden sand, roadside villages becoming smaller and more remote, the desert announcing itself slowly and then completely. The road runs straight toward the Pakistani border through the heart of the Thar Desert.

You arrive in Jaisalmer by afternoon — a city that appears like a mirage rising from the desert floor. The entire old city is built from honey-gold Jaisalmer stone, giving it the name the Golden City. At its heart stands the extraordinary Jaisalmer Fort — one of the very few living forts in the world, with thousands of people still residing and trading within its ancient walls.

Spend the late afternoon exploring the fort — your guide will walk you through the royal palace, Jain temples dating back to the 12th century, and the extraordinary carved havelis (merchant mansions) of Patwon Ki Haveli and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, their sandstone facades carved with such intricate detail they appear almost like lace.

Day 7 is the day that guests talk about most when they return home. The morning is free to explore Jaisalmer at your own pace — wander the fort lanes, browse the desert craft shops, or simply sit on a rooftop café watching the golden city come alive.

In the late afternoon, your driver takes you to Sam Sand Dunes — the most spectacular stretch of the Thar Desert, approximately 45 kilometres from Jaisalmer city. As the sun begins its descent, you mount a camel and ride into the dunes — the silence of the desert broken only by the soft padding of camel feet on sand and the distant call of birds. The sunset at Sam Sand Dunes, watched from the top of a dune, is one of the most beautiful sights in all of India.

As night falls, you are welcomed at your luxury Swiss tent camp — a fully furnished tent with proper beds, attached bathroom and electricity, set directly in the desert. The evening unfolds around a roaring bonfire as Rajasthani folk musicians and dancers perform under a sky so thick with stars it feels unreal. Dinner is a traditional Rajasthani feast served under the open desert sky — the only included dinner on this tour and one you will never forget.

Your final morning in the desert. Wake up to sunrise over the sand dunes — there is nothing quite like morning light on the Thar. After breakfast at the camp, your driver transfers you back to Jaisalmer city for your onward journey to Delhi.
