Day 1: Arrive Varanasi · Evening Ganga Aarti

Day 2: Full Day in Varanasi

Day 3: Varanasi · Prayagraj · Ayodhya

Day 4: Full Day in Ayodhya

Day 5: Ayodhya · Departure

  • Devotees who want to focus entirely on Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya without the longer Delhi-Mathura-Agra circuit.
  • Families who have already visited Mathura and Vrindavan and now want to complete the eastern leg of the North India pilgrimage map.
  • Pilgrims with limited time who still want the full depth of these three sacred cities — done unhurried rather than rushed.
  • Anyone making this journey for the first time, or returning to it with a new generation of the family.

Sattvic Meals: For devotees observing sattvic vegetarian food - onion-free, garlic-free - throughout the pilgrimage, TTI arranges meals accordingly at each destination. Please mention this at booking.

BEST - OCTOBER TO MARCH

Cool weather across all three cities. The most comfortable time for temple walking and ghat visits. December–January are peak pilgrimage months — book early.

WORK KNOWING - KARTIK MONTH, VARANASI

Kartik is the most auspicious month in Varanasi and very crowded. Spiritually powerful — but book well in advance and be prepared for large gatherings at the ghats.

WORTH KNOWING - KUMBH MELA, PRAYAGRAJ

When Kumbh Mela falls, Prayagraj draws tens of millions. Spiritually extraordinary — logistically demanding. TTI will advise if your dates overlap.

PLAN AHEAD - RAM NAVAMI, AYODHYA

After the new temple consecration, Ram Navami in Ayodhya draws enormous crowds. Darshan queues can run several hours. TTI will guide you on timing if you travel during this period.

Travel Itinerary

Arrival and check-in → Dashashwamedh Ghat at dusk

Arrive in Varanasi and check in. By evening, make your way to Dashashwamedh Ghat for the Ganga Aarti - seven priests, seven flames, bells, conch shells, smoke, the river holding it all.
This is what people travel thousands of kilometres for, and it is exactly what you imagined, and more. The journey has properly begun.

TTI Insider: Reach the ghat 40 minutes before the aarti. Walk the full length of it first - the last 20 minutes before the ceremony begins, when the lamps are being lit and the priests are taking their positions, has a quality of anticipation that is almost as powerful as the aarti itself.

Sunrise boat ride → Kashi Vishwanath → Sankat Mochan → Tulsi Manas

Up before dawn for a boat ride past the main ghats as Varanasi slowly wakes. Then Kashi Vishwanath - one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
Afternoon at Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple and Tulsi Manas Mandir. Evening aarti again if you wish. Varanasi is not a city you see - it is a city you absorb. Give it the full day it deserves.

TTI Insider: As your boat passes Manikarnika Ghat you will see the cremation fires. Do not look away. Hindus believe dying in Varanasi brings moksha - the families there are completing the most sacred act of love. Witness it with the respect it deserves. Many clients say this is the moment that stays with them longest.

Triveni Sangam boat ride → Drive to Ayodhya

Drive to Prayagraj for a boat ride at Triveni Sangam - where Ganga, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati meet.

Take a ritual dip if you wish; the priests at the ghat will guide you through the vidhi. Then drive to Ayodhya, arriving by evening. You will feel the city's energy before you even reach the temple.

TTI Insider: From the Sangam boat, ask your boatman to bring you right to the confluence line — you can see the green Yamuna and grey-blue Ganga running side by side before merging. That visible boundary between two sacred rivers, right beneath your boat, is one of the most quietly extraordinary moments on this journey.

Hanuman Garhi → Ram Mandir → Kanak Bhawan → Ram Ki Paidi

Begin at Hanuman Garhi - every Ayodhya devotee visits Hanuman before Ram. Then Ram Mandir darshan at the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Visit Kanak Bhawan where Ram and Sita are enshrined in gold, and end the day at Ram Ki Paidi ghat on the Saryu. Ayodhya today holds ancient faith and brand-new devotion in the same breath — you will feel both.

TTI Insider: Ram Mandir queues vary hugely by day and season. TTI will brief you the evening before on exact timing. One consistent truth - arriving before 8am gives you a calmer darshan, shorter queue, and the morning light inside the temple complex is softer and more beautiful.

Saryu ghat morning walk → onward journey by train or flight

A quiet final morning. Many pilgrims take one last walk to the Saryu ghat at dawn — the city is at its most peaceful at that hour. Then depart by train or fly from Ayodhya airport. TTI assists with your onward bookings. The yatra ends here. What it placed in you does not.

TTI Insider: If your train or flight is afternoon, use the morning for a second quiet darshan at whichever temple stayed with you most from yesterday. A second visit without the agenda of a full itinerary day is often the most meaningful one of the entire trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

This tour is designed for clients who want to focus purely on Varanasi, Prayagraj and Ayodhya — either because they have already covered Delhi, Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra on a previous trip, or because they have limited time and want the eastern leg of the pilgrimage circuit done thoroughly rather than the full North India route.

Not at all. Day 2 is a full day with no travel — entirely dedicated to Varanasi. Day 4 is a full day entirely dedicated to Ayodhya. Only Day 3 involves significant travel, and it includes the Sangam boat ride at Prayagraj along the way. The pace is devotional, not sightseeing-speed.

Yes — TTI can extend this itinerary to include Delhi, Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra before Varanasi, turning it into our full 7-day circuit. Tell us at booking if you want to discuss this option.

Modest clothing — salwar kameez, kurta-pyjama, saree or dhoti. Shoulders and legs covered. Remove footwear before entering any temple. Kashi Vishwanath does not permit leather items inside. TTI will brief you in detail before each major temple.

WhatsApp us at +91 93100 54485 or email info@tti.tours. Share your travel dates and group size and the team will send you a detailed quote within 4 hours. GST invoice provided for all bookings.

Varanasi does not do ordinary — and neither does Hotel Four Elements. Two minutes from Banaras Railway Station, in the city where the Ganges has been receiving pilgrims for three thousand years — boutique interiors, THE AQUA restaurant and hospitality that feels genuinely rooted in this place rather than performed for it.

Ram Mandir is 2.6 kilometres away — close enough to walk there at dawn before the queues build. Sterling Rampath sits on Ram Path itself, offers 35 well-appointed rooms, Jain food on demand at The Divine restaurant, and the kind of pure-veg hospitality that Ayodhya's pilgrims have every right to expect.
